AUGUST
- Walking holiday with Julian, to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary, in foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, where we began the journey.
- Follow up research trip to Uttarakhand, India to explore the opportunities for building links with the State through partnerships for cultural exchange programmes, Education and Learning and Enterprise.
JULY
- Appointed Business Development Consultant, Pyramedia, a Middle East media company to develop and manage their project portfolio of business opportunities including building international strategic partnerships, identifying new business opportunities, co-financing and co-producing television programmes for the Middle East market, acquiring international formats for local production, developing an Arab themed film slate and developing the Pyramedia talent management business. Pyramedia was set up by Nashwa Alruwaini also the founder director of the Abu Dhabi Middle Eastern Film Festival in 2007.
- Awarded an Honorary Master of Arts degree by University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in recognition of my contribution to the international film and television industry. "I am deeply touched and absolutely honoured to receive this award from the University for the Creative Arts. From organising film festivals, to producing films, developing policy as UKFC Board director and more recently to financing them, I have had the privilege of seeing the film industry across the whole value chain. It will be my pleasure to bring this knowledge and experience to the students of UCA”. Read Oration by Christy Johnson (Associate Dean, School of Fine Arts)
- Appointed member of Asia Task Force, to advise the UK Government on how to boost trade with Asia, Chaired by the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable and Lord Powell of Bayswater. The Task Force brings together experts from industry, education and government.
- Producer of a workshop for building Trade Links with the Indian Media and Film Industry, that brings together SME’s from London’s media, entertainment and creative industries who are interested in expanding their business activities in India. The aim of the workshop is to contribute to the development of the London creative industries and highlight the business opportunities for both UK companies in India and for Indian companies in the UK to market their products and services in these markets. The workshop will provide an opportunity for interaction as well as exchanging information and knowledge through input from professionals, case studies, networking and support through mentoring business to business development. The workshop is sponsored by Gateway Asia and will be held on Wednesday 29th September 2010 at the Brunel University, Uxbridge from 5.30m pm to 10pm.
- Producer, Premier Screening of Nollywood Movie, September, in London to coincide with the celebration of Nigeria’s 50th Independence Anniversary in 2010. Presentation by Mayfair Media Club in Association with APVL and Media Storm Entertainment 360. There is a renaissance in Nigerian Music, Fashion, Film and literature in Nigeria and its Diaspora communities around the world. Award winning Nigerian actors and directors have found success on television and in films across Africa, the UK and USA. There is the “can do “attitude of Nigerian business and entrepreneurs who remain unbowed. The UK Nollywood Premier is a celebration of this collective sense of hope together with the annual Business, Enterprise and Entertainment Awards to be launched in 2011.

- Celebration of 25 years of marriage with family and friends in London

- Speaker, University of Greenwich India Education Conference 27th May, on Private Equity and Venture Capital Investment in Education and developing strategic partnerships.
APRIL
- On 1st April, received a letter from The Academic Board of the University for the Creative Arts saying they would like to award me the honorary degree of Master of Arts, in recognition for my contributions to International film industry. The ceremony will be in July.
MARCH
- Speaker, Guardian Changing Media Summit on 18th March 2010, in The Going Global panel session, to provide delegates with an insight into the ways and means to understand and forge business relationships with the international media market, with a particular, focus on the BRICA territories.
- Research trip to Dehradun and Mussoorie, Uttarakhand to get an understanding of the area, its history and in particular its links with the UK. The objective of my visit was to explore the opportunities for UK Education, Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprise exchange. Brief meeting with H.E. the Governors of Uttarakhand, Mrs Margaret Alva who shared with me some of the history of the area including Raj Bhawan Nainital, A Scottish Castle in Kumaon Highlands.
- Signed an MOU with MediaGuru Consultants for support with the launch of India’s first integrated platform for Health & Wellness including an international high definition television channel, a web portal and mobile and VAS services. Health & Wellness platform will provide content related to mind, body, beauty, soul and good living at the right time, at the right price and in the right format. PVL are representing this an investment opportunity for private equity investment partners and seeking Strategic Partners including FMCG companies, Pharmaceutical companies, Hospitals, Fitness Companies, Non Government Organisations, Government and Health related media companies for the platform.
- Attended the last Board meeting as non executive director of DCMS after four years of service (2006- 2010).
JANUARY
- Appointed Board Director and Chair of Events and PR Committee and Chair of Creative Industries Special Interest Group by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE UK). TiE UK is the leading not-for profit global organisation promoting entrepreneurship though mentoring, networking and education. TiE UK is the 3rd largest Chapter worldwide with two offices in London and Manchester. TiE was founded in 1992, by successful entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, and is now established in 54 cities in 13 countries around the world. The TiE chapters are spearheaded by industry leaders who share an interest in and commitment toward entrepreneurships with 1,400 Charter Members and over 13, 000 members worldwide. The economic wealth creation of the global membership is estimated at $250 billion.
- Signed an MOU with Alitheia Capital, a Nigerian based company that provides access to finance for enterprises and individuals traditionally excluded from the formal financial system. Alitheia Capital and PVL (APVL) have formed a partnership to develop a media practice focused on the enabling of the film and media industries in Nigeria. APVL aims to provide the Nollywood and creative media participants with the opportunity to secure financing towards the development of the Nigerian Creative Media Industry.
- Appointed to the Advisory Board of Cause Entertainment (CE) as Non-Executive Advisor. The Fund will invest in commercial films with a social message in India. The Fund has been developed by DM Capital Advisors based in Mumbai, India.

Event's for 2010
- Producer and host of TiE UK Institute with Reshma Sohoni, CEO and founder of Seedcamp for TiE members.
Seedcamp is a micro seed fund which runs a competition-based platform for seed and venture capital deal sourcing, a set of events to bring together the technology ecosystem, and a knowledgebase of start-up trends in Europe. Reshma Sohoni will give a brief background to Seedcamp, its activities in Europe, links with the US and forth coming mini Seedcamps's in Singapore, India and South Africa. The event is aimed at those who are looking to grow their business from start up to going international and developing successful entrepreneurship strategies for early stage investments.
